Greetings!
The next Green Mountain Region tour is coming up! It's on Saturday, September 19, starting in Essex and will conclude in Williston. This is a “greater Burlington tour" and follows the successful "southern tour" led by Bob Rubin in August.
See below for full information on the tour route and registration information. We are asking that you let us know if you are planning to attend the tour by sending an email to gmrpca@gmail.com. Note the requirement to fill out the PCA Communicable Waiver, if you haven't already done so and the PCA Liability Waiver for the tour itself, per usual. Please do this in advance and bring hard copies to the tour.
Safe Driving!

Next Tour: Saturday, September 19
Covid-19 has definitely played havoc with the Green Mountain Region’s 2020 tour schedule but we managed to have enjoyable rides in July and August. On Saturday, September 19 please join your fellow GMR members for a grand tour of the greater Burlington area.
Schedule
9:15am - 9:40 a.m. Meet at the Essex Experience (21 Essex Way, Essex)
9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m Drivers Meeting
10:00 a.m. Begin Drive
12:15 p.m. (ish) Waitsfield Break
12:45 p.m. Rejoin Route
1:15 p.m. Arrive Williston Central School (Williston Village, Williston
Planned Route:
We plan to meet at the Essex Cinema (21 Essex Way #300 Essex, Vermont 05452). From Essex we will travel east on VT Route 15 through Jericho, Underhill and Cambridge. In Cambridge, we will turn onto Route 108 for a drive through Smugglers Notch and down to Stowe. In Stowe, we will turn onto Luce Road to avoid the Stowe Village road construction and connect with Route 100 South in Moscow.
From Moscow we will proceed through Waterbury Center with another short construction detour and drive down to Waitsfield via Route 100 South. We plan to take a break at the Shaw’s Market Shopping Center (27 Mad River Canoe Rd Waitsfield, VT 05673). This location will no doubt be familiar to many GMR members.
After the break, we will enjoy the twists and turns of Route 17 for approximately 9 miles going past the Mad River Glen ski area and then turn right onto Gore Road (the road changes to Main Road in the vicinity of the Midnight Goat Farm). After passing through Huntington Center we will take a left onto Hinesburg Hollow Road (it eventually becomes Hollow Road) to South Hinesburg. Here we will join Route 116 North to Hinesburg where we will pick up Mechanicsville Road (Pond Road / Oak Hill Road) passing by Lake Iroquois and continue to the intersection with Route 2 in Williston where we will finish up the tour at the Williston Central School.
If you plan to join the tour, please register by sending an email to gmrpca@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name and that of your passenger, We would also ask that you include a contact phone number that can be used by the State of Vermont if the need for contact tracing becomes necessary.
At the drivers meeting please plan to provide us with your signed PCA Liability Waiver, both the driver and passenger must sign the form. If you did not participate on the July or August tours you and your passenger must sign a PCA Communicable Disease Waiver form. You can find the requisite forms above in this newsletter or on the Green Mountain Region website in the section entitled “What to do before you arrive at a tour event”. Please make every effort to arrive with your signed forms.
Hope to see you there!

Great Tour out of West Dover August 15!
Thanks to Bob Rubin for hosting our August tour of southern Vermont
The weather was perfect as we gathered almost 20 cars at the Gray Ghost Inn in West Dover, Vermont. Our route took us south on Route 100 until we hopped onto Dover Hill Road and then Grimes Hill Road. After 13 miles of great turns we picked up Route 30 in Newfane and headed north on Route 35 through Grafton. In Grafton, we picked up Route 35 to Chester. After a brief stop in Chester for coffee and a stretch we fired up the engines and set out on Route 11 until we reconnected to Route 30 south. In Bondville, we turned onto Stratton Mountain Road towards the ski area and wound our way to West Wardsboro where we rejoined Route 100 and closed the loop back to West Dover.
Here's a photo.
