On April 8, 2024, there will be a total eclipse of the sun and Columbus, Ohio, is right in its path. The last time the world saw more than 7 minutes of totality was in 1973 over Africa. This won’t happen again until 2150 over the Pacific.
So, what better way to celebrate than to present an amazing Bauza program in person at First Community and on Zoom exploring the utility of psychedelics when used competently and responsibly within the context of analytic work. The program will look at the how certain psychedelics can be used as a way of allowing the ego to recede and for a soul-connection to exist that has a reality beyond logical comprehension—an experience that Jung called an experience of the "numinous." For Jung, it was the approach to the numinous that was at the heart of his work. Although, during his time, Jung did not endorse the use of psychedelics, that does not mean that it may not have validity in today’s psychological world.
The program will feature 2 presenters. Dr. Jim Fidelibus is a licensed psychologist in Ohio who holds a diploma as a Jungian Analyst from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago. He also has advanced training in couples therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Fidelibus will examine a case from a Jungian perspective where analysis was conducted over a 2-year period following a patient’s experience with psilocybin.
Dylan Rivard, is a licensed professional counselor in Colorado with a master’s degree in transpersonal psychotherapy. He has trained with the Psychedelic Research & Training Institute and serves as faculty for trainings with both Elemental Psychedelics and The Congregation of Sacred Practices. His practice includes experiential therapy, ketamine assisted therapy, and working with the LGBTQIA community. Mr. Rivard will speak to the experiences of his practice as it relates to the use of psychedelics in his clients’ path to individuation and wholeness.
CEUs will be available. The cost is $45 for members / $55 for non-members.
