This special session features an expert presentation by our former Annual Pilot Awardee, Dr. Lydia Furman, who will provide a comprehensive overview of safety in clinical research. Dr. Furman will discuss key principles and best practices for ensuring the protection of clinical trial participants, including the role of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), risk management strategies, ethical considerations, and regulatory requirements.

Faculty from all seven partner institutions will be eligible to apply. This year’s theme is still under wraps—but trust us, you won’t want to miss what’s coming. We’re looking for bold ideas and innovative research that will shape the future.
