From the President

Dear Peter, having just returned from two weeks in India, I can confirm that there is strong governmental interest in personal rapid transit (PRT). This interest is at the federal level as well as the city/county level. One 37-station system is under contract and a number of others are soon to follow.

Many dense cities have populations of over 10 million. They are resorting to expensive and intrusive large overhead highways and railways. Congestion has to be seen to be believed. One student I met commutes 4 hours to and from college every day. Constraints on mobility are felt by everyone. Impacts on the economy and pollution are significant. PRT is a logical solution.

PS: We love you. Please join ATRA/pay your dues/volunteer.

Together we can fix public transportation!

Best regards,

Peter Muller, ATRA President
