Doorkeeper Nick Baz To Retire
Doorkeeper Nick Baz will hang up his keys and retire after 15 years of service to Piedmont Community Church.
Nick’s last day with the church will be September 30. He looks forward to a move to Portland, Oregon where he will spend quality time with his family while continuing to explore his artwork.
In the meantime, you will find Nick serving coffee before and after worship services and securing the buildings and grounds each evening. Please take a moment to wish Nick well and know that a formal celebration of his commitment to the church will be announced soon.
“We will all miss Nick,” said Dr. Steve Schibsted. “We are grateful for the years of service he has given to Piedmont Community Church and wish him the very best in this next chapter of his life.”
Longtime church member Jay Foreman, who has been our part-time custodian for the past year, will now become full-time as of July 15 and will take on Doorkeeper responsibilities after Nick’s departure. Please congratulate Jay on his new role at Piedmont Church.
The cottage in which Nick currently resides will be cleaned, and minor renovations will occur. Jay will call the cottage ‘home’ after the renovations are complete.
