Dear Friend of Nightlight,

Thank you for your continued support of our ministry of foster care and adoption. You'll find below two inspiring stories, and some upcoming events.

Children Worth Waiting For

In February 2025, Adam and Brooke Sipes traveled to Malawi to complete the adoption of their son, Jeriko. What they expected to be the final steps of a long journey became an unexpected season of separation. Complications arose, and Brooke remained in Malawi with their two biological children and Jeriko, while Adam returned to the United States to continue working and supporting his family from afar. Months passed—heavy, stretching months filled with waiting, praying, and trusting God across oceans and time zones. Finally, in September 2025, the long-awaited moment arrived: Jeriko’s visa was approved. On September 19, 2025, the family stepped onto U.S. soil together at last—whole, reunited, and forever changed.

Jeriko's sister, Wren, mentioned to her parents that she used to hate walking in the park—but not anymore. Why? Because her brother Jeriko makes it fun. That small comment carries the weight of years. Wren prayed for Jeriko long before she knew his name. She prayed and cried for a brother in Malawi, asking God to bring him home. Now, she is living inside the answer to those prayers—running, laughing, and sharing life with the brother she once only imagined. God truly sets the lonely in families, and He weaves lasting bonds between brothers and sisters. This is what answered prayer looks like.

Hope in the Snow

Zach and I met at church and were friends for many years before we began dating in 2020. We fell in love quickly and were married in 2021. We had decided at that time to wait a year before trying to start a family.

We knew our journey to parenthood would look different than most, as I had gone through chemotherapy as a teenager and had been told I could not have children biologically.

I had first heard of embryo adoption from a friend who told me about the Snowflakes® Program. I immediately loved the idea as I had always desired to carry a child but figured that would not be an option for me.

After prayer and consideration, Zach and I joined the Snowflakes program in July of 2023. We were so excited to have this opportunity to grow our family through embryo adoption. We matched quickly with an amazing family and adopted six embryos.

After our first two transfers ended in miscarriage, we were beginning to lose hope that this process might work for us. When we pulled into the clinic for our third transfer in February of 2025, it started to snow. We took that as a sweet reminder from the Lord that he was with us. On Valentine’s Day, we took our first beta test and found out we were pregnant. This was also the 1-year anniversary of our embryos arriving to our clinic. Another sweet reminder from the Lord that he was with us.

On September 27, we welcomed our baby, Riley Ann. She truly has been the biggest blessing to us, and we could not imagine life without her. We knew we would have no problem loving a child that was not biologically ours, but we were amazed at how quickly we bonded with her. We are so glad we did not lose hope in the long and hard fertility journey and kept going. We are forever grateful for the Snowflakes embryo adoption program and to our placing family for choosing to bless us with their embryos.
