FAIRFAX, VA – Starting Monday night, March 17, and continuing nightly through Friday, March 21, the ramp from Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 will be closed. The ramp closure will occur nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, to allow crews to conduct noise wall work as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project. 

During the ramp closure, motorists traveling on east- and westbound Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 will be detoured as follows:

• Exit Georgetown Pike to southbound Balls Hill Road
• Take southbound Balls Hill Road to turn left onto Lewinsville Road
• Exit right from Lewinsville Road onto southbound Rt. 123/Dolley Madison Boulevard 
• Take southbound Rt. 123/Dolley Madison Boulevard to the on-ramp for southbound I-495

In the event of inclement weather or other delays, this work may be prolonged or rescheduled. Drivers are urged to use caution and expect potential delays if traveling through this area.
