NIGHTLY DETOURS FOR NEWTOWN RD NORTH & GREENWICH RD
Utility work at intersection requires lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
NORFOLK – Northbound Newtown Road will be closed near Greenwich Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for several nights beginning as soon as Monday, May 21, weather permitting, for utility work on the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Phase II project.

  • Signed detours will be in place for northbound Newtown Road traffic and eastbound Greenwich Road traffic.

  • All businesses will retain access during the detours.

  • Motorists traveling to eastbound Greenwich Road, including drivers exiting I-264 east on Ramp 15A at Newtown Road, will be detoured south on Newtown Road, east on Princess Anne Road, north on Witchduck Road and west on Greenwich Road.

  • Northbound Newtown Road traffic will be detoured via Princess Anne and Kempsville roads.

The detours are scheduled to occur nightly, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Thursday night, May 24, and resume the following week May 29-31, if necessary to complete the utility work.
