God's Children Are Not for Sale

Men's Group and Respect Life Ministry are excited to host a church movie night this Friday, August 11th at 7:00pm in Shea Hall at St. Julian Eymard Church showing Sound of Freedom! Sound of Freedom—based on the incredible true story of Tim Ballard, (founder of Operation Underground Railroad)—shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death. We have made this a FREE event with a free-will offering requested to support organizations fighting against human trafficking and child exploitation.

Backpack Blessing

Backpack Blessing at all Masses this Sunday, August 13th for everyone starting school this Fall. As Fr. Dan said this past Sunday, "whether that's our Queen of the Rosary School or another local elementary, Junior High or High School or you're heading off to college or even if you're distance learning or enrolling in a cooking class...this blessing is for you." As we enter a new school year, remember always God's love in our lives! Sunday schedule:

  • Saturday 5pm (Vigil) and Sunday 9:15am St. Julian Eymard Church
  • Sunday 8am and 10:30am Queen of the Rosary Church

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Tuesday, August 15th. This significant feast day recalls the spiritual and physical departure of Jesus' mother from earth, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation. Parish offices will be closed and additional opportunities to attend Mass will be available:

  • 8:15am (QR)
  • 12:15pm (SJE)
  • 7:00pm (QR)

First Day of School

The new school year begins for Kindergarten through 8th Grade on Thursday, August 17th. We'll begin with prayers in the parking lot at 7:40am.

PreSchoolers begin classes on Friday, August 18th. We can't wait to see everyone!

Let's Be Transformed Together. Save the Date and Spread the Word!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 26th and extend this invitation to friends and fellow parishioners. Drawing inspiration from Romans 12, we will come together to renew our hearts and minds and discern God's will for our lives. Fr. Dan looks forward to spending this meaningful morning with you as we build on Healing, Hope and Hospitality to Be Transformed.

We'll begin the day with morning Mass at 8:15am at Queen of the Rosary Church and then head over to Queen of the Rosary School for a morning of reflection. Light refreshments will be served in the morning, and we'll conclude with lunch between Noon and 12:30pm.

Is God Calling YOU?

Lighten your burden by letting them bear it with you!” (Exodus 18:22)

Have you ever found yourself thinking, "Fr. Dan should do this," or wondering, "Why isn't our parish doing that"? If so, we invite you to prayerfully consider joining the Parish Council. Not merely a "yes" body or "rubber stamp" for Fr. Dan's ideas, this important body plays an essential role in shaping the path of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. Parish Council acts as a bridge between parishioners and pastoral leadership.

Nominations are due to the parish office by September 1, 2023. To discover more about the position and nomination/selection process, follow this link to download the flyer and application.
