Summer Mission Appeal at the Oratory Parishes
As we do each year, we will have the opportunity to support the Catholic mission work. This weekend an appeal will be offered on behalf of the Maranatha Caring Mission at St Boniface and the Diocese of Bomadi at Assumption.

Maranatha Caring Mission works in Nigeria among peasant farmers. They provide otherwise inaccessible eye as well as hernia, appendix and other surgeries. There are currently 200 patients awaiting these life transforming surgeries. $100 for cataract surgery. $20 a month follow up care. $50 for Appendectomy or Herniorrhaphy. We need your HELP to continue to provide free medical care to these impoverished patients on the waiting list. Your donation can be made on Pushpay by selecting the Summer Mission Appeal Fund.

Our Sisters and Brothers in Bomadi Need Clean Water
The Diocese of Bomadi, in the South of Nigeria, is an area where the faith is growing. The people are abjectly poor, and the people struggle to have potable water. Oil exploitation has significantly polluted the main river from which the people draw their water for drinking, cleaning and livestock. Their Bishop, Hyacinth Egbebo, MSP, has written to ask our help to bring clean water to communities through our support of the summer mission appeal. Your donation can be made on Pushpay by selecting the Summer Mission Appeal Fund.
Anti-Racism Task Force Update
Last summer our community had a series of conversations on race and racism in the wake of George Floyd's murder and global protests against racism and racial profiling. In the fall, a group of parishioners from both St. Boniface and Assumption began meeting in an anti-racism task force to continue to examine how our community can build on those conversations. Since September, this group has conducted a survey of ministry and committee leaders on racial and diversity issues, organized a spring art project on images of the Virgin Mary that also included a community conversation, and has begun to collect ideas for greater representation of diverse perspectives in our community. We are in the process of planning another series of community conversations this fall, organizing a Nativity project for the Advent season, and building a speaker series to help our community to learn and grow on issues of race and racism. If you would like more information on the work of the anti-racism task force, or if you would like to be a part of this group, please contact Tracy Garrison-Feinberg, tracygarrisonfeinberg@gmail.com.
