Well, it’s now the month of May and if it seems that unlike last year, calendars are filling up with things to do, places to go, and people to see. What a welcome change of circumstances and based on what we are seeing at TTA, I’m not the only one excited to “get back out there.”
The East TN Big Rigs golf outing has maxed out on the number of teams and the Middle TN event is approaching full capacity as well. It is so encouraging to see that type of enthusiasm and I know we all look forward to seeing each other. At the same time, it’s fulfilling to know all the good that will come from both events. The children and families of East and Middle Tennessee that are in need of our support are the reason why we hold these events and it appears we can generate one of our highest levels of fundraising yet. Many charities, including those we support through the Big Rig events, have seen a drop in funding and now more than ever they need our support!
I sincerely hope that we have the same enthusiasm and excitement carry over to the sporting clay event and the additional golf outings in Memphis and Chattanooga.
It is never too early to start thinking about convention. Click here for our Tentative Agenda and here to download the Convention Sponsor Form to Sponsor Now!!
TTA is blessed to have such a vibrant and generous community. Thank you to everyone for the support and participation and I look forward to seeing so many of you this month.

The 112th General Assembly could complete their work for the year next week, a bit of a surprising development given the recent narrative that adjournment would take place sometime the first week in May, but consistent with the initial projections offered by leadership at the beginning of session. The House could see the budget on the floor as early as Tuesday or Wednesday, and will also enact a modified version of the “flow motion” next week, allowing legislation to flow from committee to floor much quicker than is currently witnessed. If the past is any indicator however, any number of unexpected snags can derail the orderly and efficient conclusion of session, not the least of which is bickering between the two chambers, a phenomenon that frequently appears in the final days. With the House Insurance and Senate Commerce Committees having finished up their work for the year, very few non-finance committees are scheduled to take action next week.

Early Giving Opens at 6pm!
We're in the homestretch now! The Big Payback kicks off at 6pm on May 5, which is officially a week away. Early giving will open Wednesday, April 28 at 6pm. Organizations looking to make changes to their donation pages, must do so before early giving opens. Donate Now buttons will appear on your campaign pages on TheBigPayback.org once early giving kicks off. These buttons will remain on your pages all the way until The Big Payback ends at 6pm on May 6.
Early donations will process when the donor makes the gift. However, they won't hit your giving day total or show on the public side of your organization's page until the actual 24 hours of The Big Payback. If you have questions about early giving, you can always contact us at thebigpayback@cfmt.org.
