A NEW WEBSITE EXPERIENCE

Nixa.com now has a new look! The goals for this project were to  improve user experience, reduce paperwork required for city processes, and enhance government transparency. But as you can tell, the site is not quite done yet.

We appreciate your patience as we all adjust to this new tool. There are still several bugs to work out with the new site but within a couple weeks all the basic functionalities and content should be up and running better than on the old site. There are even several new features our new site offers which our old site was not capable of.

Even after we work out the temporary bugs, website users will note that several aspects of the website will be labeled as “under construction”. This is due to the fact that the City is in the process of transitioning to new softwares over the next year which will enable even more tools and features on the website in the coming months.

We're excited for everything this website will do to help streamline government processes and help us achieve our goal of being a high-performance government.

PROJECT UPDATES

Truman Blvd. Extension Project

The City of Nixa will be using state, federal, and city funding on the upcoming construction project to extend Truman Blvd south to the current intersection of Norton Rd. & Pembrook Ave.

The City has contracted D&E Plumming to begin project construction.

Route 14 Widening Project

MoDOT is widening Rt. 14 (Mount Vernon St.). to five lanes - two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane - between Fort Street and Tiffany Boulevard. The project is anticipated to be completed by May 2023. Multiple factors, including weather, make project schedules subject to change.

Nixa Utilities in process of acquiring RDE Water Co. & Tuscany Hills water/sewer utilities

The City of Nixa is in the process of purchasing the RDE Water Company as well as the Tuscany Hills water and sewer utilities. Upon closing of these deals, current customers of those utilities will become Nixa Utilities customers. The city will invest in improving these utility systems to bring them up to our standards, and eventually, we plan to tie these systems into the existing Nixa Utilities water and sewer systems, providing benefit to all customers.

McCauley Park Inclusive Playground

Nixa Parks is having a new Inclusive Playground installed at McCauley Park, which is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2022.

The park is now open until construction begins again.
