National Night Out: Tuesday, August 6th

Nixa's National Night Out is almost here! Come out and meet Nixa policemen and firemen, see real firetrucks and police cars, and enjoy pool activities at the Nixa Aquatics Center! This event is such a fun summer activity and it's FREE to attend! See you at the Aquatics Center on Tuesday, August 6th from 6 to 8 pm.

Courts at The X Center:

Closed for Maintenance August 5th - 12th

The courts at The X Center will be closed for maintenance Monday, August 5th - Sunday, August 11th. The courts will reopen Monday, August 12th at 8:30 am.

During this time there will be no pickleball, volleyball, or basketball.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we apply a polyurethane coating to protect and maintain the court floor.

Back to School Hours at the Nixa Aquatics Center

Effective August 19th, 2024 the Nixa Aquatics Center will change hours of operation as Nixa heads back to school.

Open Swim: Saturday 12 pm - 8 pm; Sunday 12 pm - 6 pm

Lap Swim and Splash Time: Monday - Thursday & Saturday 10 am - 11:15 am.

Labor Day: Open Swim 12 pm - 3 pm; Doggie Dive In (Sponsored by Seven Hills Veterinary Clinic) 3:30 pm - 5 pm.  

GMHMA Martial Arts

Join Grandmaster Han's World Youn Wha Ryu Tae Kwon Do! The classes are for all skill levels and will focus on being patient, being polite, being alert, being brave, doing your best, and respecting yourself and others while learning martial arts.

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Open To: Ages 5 years old - Adult

Location: The X Center

Fees: $50 per month tuition ($60 start up cost, includes uniform, payable to GMHMA Springfield at the first class).

Pickleball

Play the fast growing and popular game of Pickleball! Open play is held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and Fridays from 7 am to 10 am at The X Center. The fee is $5 per day and members of The X Center are free.

The Movies in the Park series is presented by The Massengale Group of KW. All movies are held at McCauley Park, begin at dusk, and all movies are FREE! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. All movies are dependent on weather. No smoking and no alcohol.

Aqua Zumba: August 28th @ 7:30 pm



Join us for a Workout Party in the POOL! Aqua Zumba is the perfect class for Zumba lovers and Aqua enthusiasts who want to dance to upbeat music while enjoying a low impact workout. This workouts will help increase your energy, stamina, and strength.

Date: August 28th, 7:30 - 8:15 pm

Open To: Must be at least 16 years old

Location: Nixa Aquatics Center

Registration and Fees: Member $5, Nixa Resident $6, and Non-Resident $7. Registration ends August 27th or until maximum capacity).

Fall Recreational Volleyball

Recreational Volleyball is geared towards introducing and fostering girls 3rd through 6th grade an interest in volleyball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.

Season Dates: Games will be held September 16th/17th - October 14th/15th. 3rd/4th grade plays on Monday evenings; 5th/6th grade plays on Tuesday evenings. The season ending tournament will be held on Saturday, October 19th. Practice begins the week of September 2nd.

Open To: The program is open to girls in 3rd - 6th grade.

Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at The X Center.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: Ends August 14th. Late registration August 15th - 18th with a $10 additional late fee.

Fall Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in soccer. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. The league is open to boys and girls; it is comprised of 5 different divisions, 3&4 years old, 5 years old and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th – 8th grade.

Season Dates: September 14th - October 19th. Practices begin the week of September 2nd.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by September 14th) to 8th grade.

Location: Games will be played on Saturdays at McCauley Park and practices are held at Rotary Park.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: Ends August 14th. Late registration from August 15th - 18th with an additional $10 late fee.

Friends of the Park: Pool Party

All are welcome to the Friends of the Park: Summer Pool Party! This FREE event will be held at the Aquatics Center. Princesses of the 417 will be visiting with mermaids for fun and photos! Come swim with us—the pool party will be held on Saturday, August 24th from 6 - 8 pm. After the Pool Party, join us for the Movie in the Park: Sponsored by the Massengale Group of KW!

Doggie Dive In 2024: Sponsored by Seven Hills Veterinary Clinic

On Labor Day, the pool will go to the dogs! To celebrate the end of the pool season, the Aquatics Center will hold its annual Doggie Dive In, sponsored by Seven Hills Veterinary Clinic. The Doggie Dive In will be Monday, September 2nd, from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Dogs are free and people are $3 each. 

Mother Son Extravaganza: Sponsored by Mac Dental

Join Nixa Parks and Recreation for the annual Mother Son Extravaganza! Enjoy various gaming stations with Haven Games! Play the night away with activities like laser tag, obstacle courses, and more. You'll be able to refuel with light refreshments and take a picture to remember the evening! Thank you to Mac Dental for sponsoring the Mother Son Extravaganza!

Date: Friday, September 20th from 6 to 8 pm

Open To: Boys ages 5 to 12 years old

Fees: Members $25, Nixa Residents $30, Non-Residents $35. The registration fee includes one adult and one child. Additional children are $10 each.

Registration: Begins August 5th and ends September 15th.

NASP: National Afterschool Archery Program

NASP Afterschool Archery Program follows the mission and guiding principles set by NASP. This program has a Beginner Class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, interested in learning archery. It also has an Open Shoot class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, who has successfully completed the Beginner Class. All equipment will be provided. Genesis Bows and Easton 1820 arrows. No other equipment is allowed.

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays for 3-weeks. 

Fall Session 1: September 16th - October 2nd

Fall Session 2: October 21st - November 6th

Times: Beginner Class: 4 pm - 4:45 pm; Open Shoot Class 5 pm - 5:45 pm (must complete Beginner Class prior to enrollment, minimum of 5 participants).

Open To: The program is open anyone 4th - 12th grade.

Location: The X Center

Fees: Per Session. Members $25, Nixa Residents $28, Non-Residents $30. 

Registration: Begins August 5th and ends the Thursday prior to the session date or until maximum capacity.  

Fall Recreational Basketball

Recreational Basketball is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in

basketball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.

Season Dates: Saturday, November 2nd - December 14th. Practices begin the week of October 21st.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by November 2nd) to 6th grade.

Location: Games are played at The X Center and Nixa Public Schools.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: August 5th - October 2nd. Late registration from October 3rd - October 6th with a $10 additional late fee. Or until maximum capacity of 700 participants.
