Toddler Time at The X Center

Join us on Wednesdays at 10:30 am at The X Center for Toddler Time! The program will feature activities like animal encounters (2nd Wednesday of each month), arts and crafts, book readings, sensory bins, dance parties, and open gym. The fee is $3 per child and kids 1 and under are free. 

GMHMA Martial Arts

Join Grandmaster Han's World Youn Wha Ryu Tae Kwon Do! The classes are for all skill levels and will focus on being patient, being polite, being alert, being brave, doing your best, and respecting yourself and others while learning martial arts.

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Open To: Ages 5 years old - Adult

Location: The X Center

Fees: $50 per month tuition ($60 start up cost, includes uniform, payable to GMHMA Springfield at the first class).

Pickleball

Play the fast growing and popular game of Pickleball! Open play is held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and Fridays from 7 am to 10 am at The X Center. The fee is $5 per day and members of The X Center are free.

Indoor Garage Sale

The Indoor Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, February 24th, 2024, from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Entrance is FREE to the public. Registration for booth spaces begins December 1st. Space is limited—please register early! A 10x10 space is $20 and a 10x15 space is $30. Tables are available for $5 per table. The X Center reserves the right to refuse any item inappropriate for sale in this event. No concession items allowed.   

Father Daughter Dance:

Join Nixa Parks and Recreation for the annual Father Daughter Dance! Dance the night away while enjoying light refreshments, activities, and a picture to remember the evening. Thank you to Mac Dental for sponsoring the Father Daughter Dance!

Date: February 9th, 2024

Time: 6 pm - 8:30 pm

Open To: All ages

Registration and Fees: Pre-registration will end on February 8th: Members $25, Nixa Residents $30, Non-residents $35. Day of registration will begin on February 9th: Members $30, Nixa Residents $35, Non-residents $40. The registration fee includes admission for one adult and one child. Each additional child is $10.

Flag Football

Recreational Flag Football is designed as an introduction to the sport, to build on skills, and to foster an interest in football. Participants will learn the basic skills and concepts of the game.

Season Dates: Saturday, March 23rd with the six-game season

ending April 27th. Practices begin the week of March 11th.

Open To: The program is open to boys and girls in 3rd-6th grade.

Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at Rotary Park.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: Ends February 14th, 2024. *Late registration from February 15th - 18th with a $10 additional late fee.

Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in soccer. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. The league is open to boys and girls; it is comprised of 5 different divisions, 3&4 years old, 5 years old and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd - 5th grade, and 6th - 8th grade. Games for every division are on Saturday morning/afternoons.

Season Dates: The six game season begins Saturday, March 16th - April 20th. Practices begin the week of March 4th.

Open To: The program is open to boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by March 16th) to 8th grade.

Location: Games are played at McCauley Park and practices are held at Rotary Park.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: Ends February 14th, 2024. *Late registration from February 15th - 18th with a $10 additional late fee. 

Recreational Volleyball

Recreational Volleyball is geared towards introducing and fostering girls 3rd through 6th grade an interest in volleyball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. 

Season Dates: March 18th/19th through April 15th/16th. 3rd/4th grade plays on Monday evenings; 5th/6th grade plays on Tuesday evenings. The season ending tournament will be on Saturday, April 20th.

Open To: The program is open to girls in 3rd - 6th grade.

Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at The X Center.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Art Classes

Painting Junkie is excited to be teaching painting classes to kids in grades 2-6. In the classes, join us in following step by step instructions painting with Ms. Debbie of Painting Junkie. You will be able to customize your painting with your own colors and embellishments to make it your own in the end. Debbie Hightower is a retired teacher who loves kids and art. Her mission is showing everyone they are artists especially when they don’t believe it themselves. All the supplies will be provided. Please dress your child in clothes that can get dirty. 

Registration: Ends the Tuesday prior to the class date or at maximum capacity. Space is limited, please register early!

2024 Dog Park Passes & City Dog Tags

It's time to renew those dog park passes and city dog tags for our furry family members for 2024!

Dog park passes and city dog tags for 2024 are now available to purchase at The X Center, Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm. The X Center is located at 701 N Taylor Way, Nixa, MO 65714.

Dog Park passes are $20 (two dog maximum) and require proof of vaccination for Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, and Bordetella. City dog tags are required for those pups who live inside city limits and are $2 (if spayed or neutered) or $3 (if not spayed or neutered).

NASP: Afterschool Archery

NASP Afterschool Archery Program follows the mission and guiding principles set by NASP. This program has a Beginner Class open to anyone, 4th grade through 12th grade, interested in learning archery. It also has an Open Shoot Class open to anyone, 4th grade through 12th grade, who has successfully completed the Beginner Class. All equipment will be provided. We only use Genesis Bows and Easton 1820 arrows. No other equipment is allowed. 

Registration: Ends the Thursday prior to the session date. Classes have a minimum of 5 registered participants.

Open To: Anyone in 4th grade through 12th grade

When: Mondays & Wednesdays (3 weeks)

            Session 2: 2/12 through 2/28

Times:  Beginner Class: 4:00 p.m.- 4:45 p.m.

Open Shoot Class: 5:00 p.m.- 5:45 p.m.

Where:  All classes will be held at The X Center

Fees:  Members $22 Nixa Residents $25 Non-Residents $27

Adult Co-Ed Volleyball

Registration for Adult Co-Ed Volleyball begins January 29th and ends April 10th. Late registration will be held April 11th - 14th with a $10 late fee. The team fee is $185 per team. Games will be played on Mondays, April 22nd - May 20th and Tuesday, May 28th. Space is limited to 8 teams. Spring Break Camp

While Nixa is out of school for Spring Break--join us, at The X Center, for a camp full of fun and awesome activities. Registration ends March 11th. Camp will be held Monday through Friday, March 11th - 15th, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The program is open to kids ages 5 years old (must currently be enrolled in Kindergarten) - 6th grade. The fees for the program are as follows (per day): Members $17, Nixa Residents $22, Non-Residents $27. Please send a sack lunch and two snacks each day!
