Queen's Thoughts

No More Holes!

You might sometimes have uneven areas or "holes" when painting a layered, multi-colored background using acrylics. This happens when your paintbrush stays in one place for too long, like a car tire spinning in the mud. Once these holes appear, filling them back in with more paint is tricky.

Shout-Out to...Cheryl Boudreau

Hi Ginger,

I took your instructions to heart and tried to make sure there was enough contrast. I really appreciated your explanation of the painting's composition and made one flower the star of the show. I may have made some of the flowers too dark, and please let me know what you think,

Thanks again!

Your art friend,

Cheryl

This is the artistic journey of the Artist Cheryl Boudreau.

Here are three of her paintings spanning over a year.

Cheryl's first painting was sent in to share with Ginger and is from the back-to-basics tutorials.

Her Red Poppies was recently finished and sent in for a PAC, but there were no corrections needed, so it was posted on Pinterest with no changes.

The Daisy painting was painted a year ago, and it took four PACs before the final painting was completed.

Congratulations, Cheryl, on the progress that you have made!
