A New Year...a new chance to get it right! Welcome to the first edition of the 2023 "NoHo Strong" newsletter! We've got the first news worthy stories and announcements here for you...so let's get started!

"I Resolve To Never, Ever Make Resolutions!"

How many of you made New Year's resolutions? Now, how many of you have broken them already?

Statistics show that New Year's resolutions suffer a sad, slow death...

Of those who make a New Year's resolution, after 1 week 75% are still successful in keeping it. After two weeks, the number drops to 71%. After 1 month, the number drops again to 64%. And after 6 months, 46% of people who make a resolution are still successful in keeping it. Less than 50%...

I have a solution to resolutions.

I evaluate myself as I go. If I notice I'm being grumpier than usual (or somebody comments on it to me!), then I put the motions in place to change it. If my clothes are fitting a bit tight, the I make a plan to take off a few inches, with better eating and exercise. If I'm feeling a bit stressed, I take some time for me...and so on and so forth. C'mon...we all know when it's time to make some changes. We don't need the start of a new year for inspiration for some revisions! If adjustments need to be made...well, that should be inspiration enough!

Anyway...that's what works for me...it has been a fool proof plan after many years of broke resolutions. Perhaps if you're one of those folks whose resolution (s) fail...this plan might work for you as well!

No matter what...Happy New Year! Let's all work together to make NoHo greater this year...wait...is that a plan or a resolution?? :)

...IT'S TIME TO MIX!!!

We're Back!!

After taking December off, our mixers are back and ready to go at our own Pitfire Pizza at 5211 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601.

This month, our special guest speaker and sponsor is Lauren Trotter, Founder of "Path Of Peace Foundation." Among the subjects Lauren will be tackling, probably the most important will be the epidemic of sex trafficking in our city. If you think North Hollywood is immune from this plague, you're very, very wrong.

So, please join us for this very important mixer. Of course, as usual, we also have our all day fundraiser happening on the same day! WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR??

Are we thankful for a year hopefully filled with health, happiness and prosperity? We thought, for our first "Thankful Thursday" of the year, THIS is how we should start...with a note of gratitude for another opportunity to do a jaunt around the planet, so to speak.

Our Chamber is really focused on the prosperity part and look forward to working with you to help make YOUR prosperity happen!

IT'S NATIONAL WHIPPED CREAM DAY!!!

Need we say anything more? Is there anyone who doesn't like a dollup of whipped cream on their pie, or in their hot chocolate? And...c'mon...which one of us can't confess to taking the cannister of "Redi Whip" and filling our gaping mouth with loads of whipped cream??

Whipped cream is also used as a yummy ingredient in things like chocolate mousse, and tres leches cake.

Well...today's the day to dive in and enjoy all of that and more! The cold, stormy weather we've been having calls for a nice hot chocolate with a generous dollop of whipped cream...go on...indulge!!

And so...the first edition of "No Ho Strong 2023" is in the books! Stay tuned for more exciting news as the year goes...you can be sure we'll be "on top of it."
