No Scar??? 7/23/23
Matthew 6:1-15 (KJV)
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
As I sat at lunch yesterday with two precious souls I made the statement that “I miss the stage!”
Theses days, and at my “advanced age” I spend most of my days alone-cooped up in my
“SHED/MAN CAVE/STUDIO/OFFICE/CHURCH”....................
My home away from home.
Few, if any, venture to walk through the long/wet grass to visit me.
It is HERE where I prepare and type these messages and it is HERE where I make and receive the (THANK GOD) the many texts, emails, phone calls from folk of all stripes-SAVED and UN-SAVED.
This is my PULPIT, my STAGE now-no adoring crowds or numbers of “members”.....
Little to crow or boast about.
Much to my chagrin, is this not EXACTLY what Jesus was talking about and what WE ALL should duplicate:

When I uttered my statement that “I missed the stage” my friend quietly replied, “THAT'S THE FLESH!!!”
CAN WE ALL SAY AMEN!!??
YOU, dear reader/dear member/dear flesh are the real HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU, who are not on the stage, not receiving thunderous applause and adoration from myriads of souls-
YOU, who quietly go about your daily business-caring for and/or supporting your families, struggling with sins and faults, attempting to live a “good, Christian life and example”
YOU ARE THE HEROES OF GOD.
And I am also as I and my dear wife spend countless nights caring for a severely HANDICAPPED adult child.
Why, no one sees....................?????

THY FATHER WHICH SEEST IN SECRET SHALL REWARD THEE OPENLY!!
PRAISE GOD/PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beloved, only God REALLY knows and SEES!!!!
One of these days, and it will not be long, GOD HIMSELF shall reward YOU!!!!
YOU who few indeed recognize and applaud shall receive these Words from God Himself:

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Revelation 22:12 (KJV)
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
AND WHAT A DAY THAT SHALL BE/WHEN MY JESUS WE SHALL SEE!!!
Hast thou no scar?
No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand?
I hear thee sung as mighty in the land;
I hear them hail thy bright, ascendant star.
Hast thou no scar?
Hast thou no wound?
Yet I was wounded by the archers; spent,
Leaned Me against a tree to die; and rent
By ravening beasts that compassed Me, I swooned.
Hast thou no wound?
No wound? No scar?
Yet, as the Master shall the servant be,
And piercèd are the feet that follow Me.
But thine are whole; can he have followed far
Who hast no wound or scar?
