Dates and Keynote Speaker Announced for Winter Meetings
Once again the Alliance will be hosting two Winter Soil Health meetings. A chance to hear the latest on no-till and cover crops and their direct relationship to soil health, productivity and profitability. These meetings will be held:

  • Feb. 24 – Trinity Point Church of God, Clarion, PA
  • Feb. 25 – Lancaster Farm & Home Center*, Lancaster, PA
(*note change in location from previous years)

Keynote speaker for both days will be Trey Hill, Harborview Farm, Kent County, Maryland. Located at Rock Hall, MD, literally on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay, Trey is a fourth generation farmer producing corn, wheat and soybeans on 13,000 acres while focusing on sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. The farm is known for pioneering new techniques, searching for better ways to make things work and connecting dots in new ways.

The Alliance is excited to hear what Trey will have to offer those interested in no-till and cover crops at any level of experience. Save the date and watch for more details in the near future.
The PA No-Till Alliance Mourns Loss of Friend and Supporter
The No-Till Alliance mourns the loss of former Versant Strategies Senior Consultant, Walt Peechatka on Saturday, October 19. Walt was a valuable resource for the Alliance during his time with Versant Strategies and enjoyed a long career focused on public service to the agriculture, including as Exec Deputy Secretary at the PA Dept of Agriculture and Executive Vice-President at PennAg Industries Association.

A wonderful friend and leader for the agriculture industry, Walt will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Bonnie and the entire Peechatka family.
