The work before us is vast, and that is by design. Trump and his enablers count on us to exhaust ourselves, to burn out, and to walk away. We cannot give them that victory.
Here’s the truth: no one can do everything—and no one should. What we can do is choose one action, one event, one step that is sustainable for each of us. When we each do our part, and trust that our sisters and brothers across the country are doing theirs, those individual efforts build into a powerful, unstoppable collective force.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your one call, your one RSVP, your one hour could possibly matter—remember this: history is not made by the few who can do everything. It’s made by the many who do something and keep going.
Power doesn’t only show up in headlines. It shows up in the quiet, steady choices of neighbors who refuse to look away: the person who dials the phone even when their voice shakes, the parent who shares a link between errands, the elder who shows up on Zoom and takes notes, the student who texts three friends to come along. Each act is a stitch; together we weave a safety net strong enough to catch one another—and a rope sturdy enough to pull our future toward justice.
We also know the strategy of those who’d undo our rights: wear us down until we stop showing up. That’s why our work must be sustainable. We need you whole, hopeful, and here for the long haul.
