No down side to BP choice FreeStyle BioLock for chem lab at Indiana refinery
One of the largest issues labs and similar facilities face in replacing existing flooring is down time. With the interlocking version of our FreeStyle BioLock products, labs typically won’t have much, if any, down time during installation. That’s one of the primary reasons BP chose our FreeStyle BioLock product for one its chemical labs and another location at its Whiting, Indiana refinery.
BP’s Whiting Refinery is the sixth largest in the US and has a capacity of more than 400,000 barrels per day (64,000 m3/d) of crude oil. In addition to a concern about down time, BP also had a need for a chemical-resistant tile that would be easy to maintain and was portable.
SelecTech Distributor Budget Maintenance initiated and installed both projects, which consisted of a 1,300- and 400-square-foot installation. Both installations took place in March.
