The Secret World of Archy & Mehitabel

Adapted for the stage by Dan Gilvezan and directed by Moosie Drier, the world premiere of The Secret World of Archy & Mehitabel brings the beloved New York Evening Sun columns by journalist Don Marquis to life.

The Romantics
In this comic reversal of Romeo and Juliet, a mother and neighboring father concoct a fake family feud to make their son and daughter think they are ill-fated lovers and fall in love. Their scheme succeeds, but now the “feuding” parents need to find a way to reconcile so that the couple can wed. With no expense spared, the parents hire the handsome rogue, Straforel, to stage a fake abduction. The play is the basis for the 1960 musical The Fantastics.
