Clermont, Florida (26 February 2024) – Six-time world champion Noah Lyles and adidas have extended their partnership through the end of the decade, including both this year’s Olympic Games in Paris and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Details of the contract are not available, but the agreement involves extensive commitments both on and off the track and is the richest contract in the sport of track and field since the retirement of Usain Bolt.
Adidas has been Lyles’s primary sponsor since immediately after the 2016 Olympic Trials, when he finished fourth in the 200 meters as a high school senior. In the years since, Lyles has turned himself into the world’s preeminent sprinter, winning three consecutive world championships titles at 200 meters, breaking the 26-year-old American record at 200 meters, and winning all three sprint gold medals in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 meters at the most recent World Athletics Championships in Budapest in 2023, becoming only the fifth man to accomplish that feat.
Lyles has been one of the primary ambassadors of adidas since 2016 and has been featured in numerous global promotions, including a 2021 Pre-Olympic Anime campaign across social media and a Y-3 fashion show in Paris. One of track and field’s most visible figures, Lyles's off-the-track presence has been significant, having been a guest at the Met Gala in 2021 and starring in his ground-breaking Peacock/NBC docuseries “Unscripted,” detailing his build up to the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
