Achieving rank at the Nokado Dojo is not an easy thing to do . Here at Nokado we have a certain attendance amount that you must attain, techniques that you have to learn, understanding that you must acquire, and a Martial Arts maturity that you must gain.
Black belt....the training time for everyone varies...could be 5 years 6,or 7. It depends on your athletic skill and the dedication to the Dojo. You receive a training belt, a ceremonial belt and your teacup
Ni Dan....2 years from achieving your black belt ...training 2 to 3 classes a week....upon attaining your Ni Dan you will receive a new belt and your ceremonial sword
San Dan...3 years of training from Ni Dan....2 to 3 classes a week.....when you achieve San Dan you will get a new training belt and an awesome ceremonial belt; black on one side, blue on the other.
Yon Dan....4 years of training from your San Dan......training now is a part of your life...it is something you do because Jiu-Jitsu and the Dojo is a part of your life....more often than not you are teaching in the Dojo and developing the lifestyle of modern samurai. You will receive a training belt and red white and black ceremonial belt
Go Dan....5th degree Black Belt......the title of Shihan.....we have 4 Shihan ranks in the Dojo....Shihan means a teacher with honor....you receive a training belt and a ceremonial belt. Black on one side, purple on the other...and you also receive yon Shihan certificate

Renshi.....an excellent achievement in the Martial Arts.....Renshi is a Black belt that has brought a student to the rank of Black belt....or a black belt that has helped in a auspicious fashion in the development in getting a student to the rank of Black belt....no belt comes with this achievement just the title....you continue to wear your current belt, but you receive your Renshi certificate.
