Dear Florida-Georgia District Pastors and Congregations,

As Christ's Light continues to shine upon us, revealing His great love for us, it compels us to share the joy of life with others. I pray the fullness of His love continues to penetrate your lives throughout this season.

I am writing to provide an important reminder for you all. At each District convention, we have the opportunity to elect our District President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, members of the Board of Directors (2 Lay members per region and three commissioned members throughout the District), and the Committee for Nominations. These elections call for candidate nominations from the congregations, per the process that their governing documents require, for the respective positions. Even incumbents need to receive nominations. It should not be assumed that they have been nominated by someone else. Not every incumbent is eligible to serve again due to term limitations, geographical location, or availability. As a result, please do not assume that the representatives who have served in the past will serve again.

Please prayerfully consider qualified pastors, laity, and commissioned ministers for specific positions. The deadline of March 6 is constitutionally required for nominations of President, Vice President, and Board of Director Regional Lay Representatives. The nomination form is available here. Once you get to the webpage with the nomination form, you need to download it. Click the arrow pointing down in the upper left corner. Once you open the file, you can type on it; this is true for the other convention pdf files as well.

Members of the Board of Directors meet quarterly from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon. Three meetings are in person, and one is usually conducted via Zoom. Generally desired Board member attributes are the ability to think critically and love God's mission; additional expertise is appreciated.

Nominating committee members would be aware of individuals in the District and the District in general. For formal descriptions of the positions and tasks involved, please consult the Florida-Georgia District Charter and Bylaws.
