If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors or know someone who would be a great asset to our leadership team, please submit all inquiries and nominations to Colleen Roth by Monday, October 25th. The Nominating Committee will meet to review nominations and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors.

A LOOK AHEAD
Shop Early. . Shop Local
You have undoubtedly heard 'supply chain issues' on everything from lumber to auto parts to Christmas trees. This year, retailers are encouraging shoppers to make their purchases early as they struggle getting product.

The workforce shortage has exacerbated this problem as cargo ships float at major US ports for weeks and months at a time with not enough dock workers to unload goods and a severe driver shortage to deliver product to their destination.
Our smaller retailers and businesses are often left out as the large box stores have priority in filling their bulk orders. Please consider supporting our small businesses this holiday season by purchasing goods, services, gift cards and experiences.
COFFEENET FUN
Thank you to our gracious hosts at Town Square TV for our October CoffeeNet. It is always a great time in their studio! The Chamber is now scheduling CoffeeNet hosts for 2022. Contact Colleen to schedule yours today.
GROUNDBREAKING
Crossroads Church
Crossroads Church at Upper 55th and Babcock Trail broke ground for the workforce housing unit being built adjacent to the church. This building will have 49 units with some underground and surface lot parking. This project received some tax credits from the County CDA and State to make the new construction rents more affordable for those employed.
Workforce Development Board seeks award nominations
The Dakota-Scott WorkForce Development Board (WDB) is accepting nominations to recognize individuals, programs, companies and organizations that improve workplaces in Dakota and Scott counties. The deadline is Nov. 1.
