Cameron Nutting Williams nominated as president of America's Newspapers for 2022-23
Nominations announced for officers and directors
Cameron Nutting Williams, regional publisher and chief revenue officer of Ogden Newspapers, will be nominated to be the next president during the Senior Leadership Conference of America's Newspapers.

Members will elect officers and directors for 2022-23 on Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, during this year's conference.

In addition to Williams, the following nominations will be made for officers:

Vice President: Heidi Wright, COO and publisher of The Bulletin/EO Media Group, Salem, Oregon

Treasurer: Leonard Woolsey, president of Southern Newspapers and president and publisher of The Daily News, Galveston, Texas

Nat Lea, the organization's president, and the president and CEO of WEHCO Media, Little Rock, Arkansas, will become the immediate past president.

Notice to members of America's Newspapers
The America’s Newspapers board will be considering an amendment to the bylaws at its upcoming meeting. The amendment provides the board more latitude with the number of directors who may serve. If you have any comments or questions, please send them to Dean Ridings, CEO, at dridings@newspapers.org

America's Newspapers invites applications for Minority Fellowship opportunity at Senior Leadership Conference
America's Newspapers and the SNPA Foundation are inviting nominations for several Minority Fellowships to cover some of the costs associated with attending the 2022 Senior Leadership Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, Oct. 16-18. This fellowship is designed to bolster racial diversity and increase engagement by minority employees at the conference.

This Minority Fellowship is open to executives from all newspapers (members of America's Newspapers and non-members). Nominees can be from a newspaper or from the corporate office. Nominate a deserving candidate — or nominate yourself!

Carolyn Pleiss announced as new chief information officer for Cox Enterprises
Cox Enterprises has announced Carolyn Pleiss as its new senior vice president and chief information officer.

In this role, Pleiss will define and deliver IT strategy and capabilities that are applicable across the company. This includes architecture, security and compliance, application development, infrastructure and program management.

The Park Record’s new editor keen to the responsibility of helming a Park City, Utah, community newspaper
Robert Meyerowitz remembers his days as a foreign correspondent for The Associated Press Radio and National Public Radio when he would report about wars and conflicts from Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba and Israel.

These days, Meyerowitz has other priorities like Charlie, his 11-year-old border collie, and his new position as editor of The Park Record, one of the oldest published newspapers west of the Mississippi River.

James Robson named global soccer correspondent for The Associated Press
Global Sports Editor Ricardo Zuniga has announced that James Robson is The Associated Press’ new global soccer correspondent.

Robson has been covering Manchester United and the England national team for the soccer site Goal.com.

Hammonton Gazette sold to Louie Mullen
After 25 years of local ownership by publisher Gabriel Donio, The Hammonton Gazette Inc. has sold The Hammonton (New Jersey) Gazette to 37-year-old J. Louis “Louie” Mullen of Buffalo, Wyoming, according to John Cribb of Cribb, Cope & Potts who represented Donio and Gazette Editor-in-Chief Gina Rullo.

HD Media purchases Virginia weekly
HD Media has purchased the Virginia Mountaineer, a weekly newspaper in Grundy, Virginia, the company announced.

The Mountaineer has been the newspaper of record in Buchanan County, Virginia, for a century.
