Black History Month

MAAEYC celebrates the achievements, culture, and contributions of African Americans!

President's Message

Dear MAAEYC Members,

As we move through February, we are feeling optimistic about the exciting opportunities ahead for early childhood education. Our commitment to supporting young children, families, and professionals remains strong, and we are energized by the work being done across our state and beyond.

We are thrilled about the new membership structure from NAEYC, which will bring fresh opportunities for engagement and connection. More details will be shared in the days leading up to March, so stay tuned!

Additionally, we are busy planning our annual conference in April, featuring the inspiring Holly Bruno as our Keynote Speaker! This year’s event will offer dynamic course offerings, networking opportunities, and much more.

We are also excited that AmyBeth Smith is representing Massachusetts as the Public Policy State Lead in Washington, ensuring that the voices of early childhood educators are heard at the national level.

Thank you for being a part of MAAEYC. Your passion and dedication continue to shape the future of early childhood education, and we look forward to all that’s ahead!

With appreciation,

Cheryl,

MAAEYC President

MAAEYC At-Large Board Member, Nancy Yee and her K1 class celebrates Black History Month! Inspired by the works of Baran Batch, an artist, poet, entrepreneur, painter, designer, and community architect based in Pittsburgh. The students created collages and painted a skyline inspired by Baran's unique style!

The Federal Funding Freeze Was Rescinded—But Its Impact Remains!

Early childhood professionals across Massachusetts, we need your voice! While the federal funding freeze has been lifted, many programs, families, and educators still feel the effects—delays, disruptions, and uncertainty.

Help us collect critical data to advocate for sustainable early education funding!

Take our survey and share your experience: https://lnkd.in/er5gZaDW

Highlight how the freeze would affect your program, staff, and families.

Join the movement to push for long-term funding solutions in early childhood education.

We must keep advocating to ensure early education programs receive the funding and stability they deserve. Your insights will help us shape policy conversations and secure the resources needed for children, families, and educators.
