The AFOS Awards Committee is soliciting diverse nominations from Army, Navy, Air Force, VA, and Public Health for the five major awards for 2023:

(1) OD of the Year 

(2) Junior OD of the Year 

(3) Reserve/Guard OD of the Year 

(4) COL Bzdula AFOS Student Award

(5) Orion Award

The OD of the Year and Junior OD of the Year awards are initially service-specific, with an awardee selected from each of the following services: Army, Navy, Air Force, VA, and Public Health. These recipients then compete for the AFOS OD of the Year and AFOS Junior OD of the Year awards.

We welcome the nomination of candidates from previous years who were not selected to receive an award.  

Award nominations due  June 30, 2023. 

Please note that it may be helpful to have the nominee's CV/resume when completing a nomination. You will need to add a type written statement, not to exceed 1,000 words, explaining the primary reason the nominee should be named as award recipient based on the criteria listed. The statement should explain the nature of the individual's contribution based on all previous history, not just activities accomplished in the last year.
