Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers Available through InWARN
Indiana Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (In WARN) is pleased to announce that The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), through a joint effort with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) have provided 750 NCITs to InWARN for distribution to water and wastewater utilities in Indiana.
The Water/Wastewater Sector is one of sixteen Critical Infrastructure Sectors defined by U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Functioning critical infrastructure is imperative during the response to the COVID-19 emergency for both public health and safety as well as community well-being. Certain critical infrastructure industries have a special responsibility in these times to continue operations.
Safe drinking water is a prerequisite for protecting public health and all human activity. Properly treated wastewater is vital for preventing disease and protecting the environment. Thus, ensuring the supply of drinking water and wastewater treatment and service is essential to modern life and the Nation’s economy.
“InWARN recognizes how critical the certified water and wastewater operators and supporting staff are to operating and maintaining the utilities in Indiana. We are so pleased to have such a great working partnership with Indiana Department of Homeland Security.” said InWARN Chairperson Jaimie Foreman with City of Carmel Utilities.
Because supplies are limited, utilities are asked to complete the registration form and pay a small fee to cover shipping and handling ($10). The registration form can be found at

. The NCIT will be shipped directly to the utility.
A special thank you to all the lnWARN partners including AIM Indiana, Alliance of Indiana Rural Water, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana Section American Water Works Association, and Indiana Water Environment Association.
