Message from the Executive Director
It's summer, and I hope that many of you are taking some well-deserved time off. Enjoy it and know that Nonprofit News will be waiting for you when you get back. If you are in town on July 29th, we'd love to see you at the official Nonprofit Center Ribbon Cutting to meet our first three resident nonprofits. Many of you have asked when the building will be open for meetings in the evenings, and it will be soon. We've just posted two part-time positions so we can do that this fall. This fall, we'll also begin our professional development programming. As needs are changing in the sector, we need your input to help us design and deliver programs that address the issues most relevant to local nonprofits now. Please share your thoughts by completing the short survey below. As always, thank you for your commitment to our communities and for being part of this journey.
-- Jennifer
| | Official Ribbon Cutting is July 29th. Join Us! | | | | County Executive Steuart Pittman will officially open the newly-renovated, 13,000+ square foot facility in Crownsville by introducing its first three resident organizations. We invite you to be part of this special occasion on July 29th and learn more about how your 501(c)(3) nonprofit can benefit from the Nonprofit Center’s capacity-building programs. Please let us know if you can attend. | | The Nonprofit Center is open for tours and meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am to 5pm through August 15th. | | Professional Development Planning Survey | | It's time to plan the FY26 professional development calendar, and we need your input. Like last year, the NPC intends to host the annual conference in March and two cohort programs, one this fall and one in the spring. We know you have other needs, too, and want to ensure that we continue to provide the most relevant and beneficial resources for your organization. So, please share your requests for other types of programming as well. We are here to support you, and we need your input. Click HERE or scan the QR code below. | | NPC Jobs and the NPC Job Board | | Last month, we announced that two new positions were approved in the FY26 county budget. They were posted a week later, and the response has been incredible. As of yesterday, there were 352 applications for the positions combined. The county's Office of Personnel has been busy, and their work won't stop any time soon because we're posting two part-time, contractual positions this week. If you know anyone looking for part-time work in the afternoons and evenings, please share this opportunity. | | |
If your organization is hiring, too, check out the NPC Job Board where you can:
- Post new job opportunities
- Connect with local talent
- Save on recruitment costs
The job board is linked on the county's Job Announcements page, so you should get some great visibility. Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits with positions located in Anne Arundel County can post positions now.
| | Congrats to the FY26 Community Support Grant Recipients | | |
The Nonprofit Center was proud to host an event last week when County Executive Pittman and Arundel Community Development Services announced 65 local nonprofits as Community Support Grant program recipients.
This year, the county invested $2 million in grants to support initiatives that improve health and wellness, promote equity and inclusion, eliminate the opportunity gap, and better the lives of our residents. These grants help power the work that nonprofits are doing every day to support people and communities across the county. Congratulations!
