Message from the Executive Director

Isn’t it odd how things can move so slowly and yet so fast at the same time? It’s taken almost two years to renovate the Nonprofit Center’s space in Crownsville, and yet it was like we started yesterday. Progress can feel slow and rushed at the same time, and with the myriad of uncertainties facing nonprofits today, it’s been heartening to see the growth (literally outside my window) around 41 Community Place.

We want to thank County Executive Pittman for supporting our growth by adding two positions in his proposed FY26 budget. These positions will help us better support your work, and we hope the County Council agrees. We’ll know more before next month’s issue of Nonprofit News.

In the meantime, check out new Spotlights, how NPC promotes mental health, and job board resources. And, please, respond to the poll below to let us know if a free job board is something you would use!

"Lift up your eyes and see the good in the world,

for we are people with an amazing capacity to do great good.

And if only the minority choose to exercise this capacity

to the smallest degree,

oh how wondrous and sweet the deeds

performed at but a few hands!"
