Message from the Executive Director
We all know the nonprofit sector is facing a great deal of uncertainty right now, and unless you are engrossed in Giving Tuesday plans, it’s easy to forget that Thanksgiving is just a week away. I did. So, I’m using this opportunity to think about the many things (and people) that I’m thankful for, like the donors and volunteers who support what’s important to them and the organizations that promote and celebrate such philanthropy. I’m thankful for nonprofit leaders and staff who selflessly put in blood, sweat and tears to serve others, and for the people who are willing to share their expertise to help these leaders learn and grow. I’m thankful to the funders that invest in nonprofits and the advocates who fight for your needs because they know the value of the work. And, of course, I’m thankful for the team bringing the Nonprofit Center to life. I feel much better knowing that we will all navigate future challenges together. I hope you do too.
-- Jennifer

24 Local Nonprofits Complete the Fall 2024 Training Cohorts
Twenty-four organizations completed our Fall 2024 fundraising and sustainability cohort last night. We appreciate the commitment shown by each organization to attend all five sessions, engage with the material, and learn from one another. We're proud of the work they do and are honored to be supporting their efforts!
One participant commented “This was the most valuable fundraising training that I have received! There are so many takeaways that will greatly improve our fundraising." Another cohort attendee said “Not only has the cohort course been helpful, my 1:1 sessions with Lili were amazing. I not only got questions answered, I left our meeting with a deliverable and a plan!”

We share all programming information on our Facebook page, so be sure to follow along for updates on future cohorts and training opportunities!
This fundraising cohort was offered by the Nonprofit Center in partnership with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County and facilitated by Lili Leonard of Black Dog Philanthropic.

The Nonprofit Center Holds Its First Networking Event
On Wednesday, November 20th, the Nonprofit Center held its first networking event. Representatives from nearly 30 nonprofits gathered at the Arundel Center to celebrate wins from 2024, share goals for 2025, and get to know each other better as nonprofit sector coworkers.
Didn’t receive an invite? This networking event was specifically for nonprofits that have completed one of our cohort training programs. But we heard you, and we’ll be hosting additional networking events open to all local nonprofits in the new year. Make sure to follow us on Facebook where we post details for all of our upcoming events.
