Animal Welfare Grants

Opens November 22, 2024


Animal Welfare Grants (up to $25,000) support organizations that serve animals and promote their humane care in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties. 


The application opens November 22, 2024, and closes January 10, 2025.

Programmatic Grants

Opens December 1, 2024


Programmatic grants support organizations and programs that provide access to education, health care, or basic human needs for people who face systemic barriers in our community.


The next grant cycle opens December 1, 2024, and closes January 5, 2025...

Capacity Building Grants

Closes December 1, 2024


Capacity Building grants help improve a nonprofit's ability to fulfill its mission by strengthening its capacity. Capacity strengthening areas include data gathering, evaluation, learning, assessment, advocacy, planning, fundraising, leadership, and emergency needs.


The current grant cycle is open now and closes on December 1, 2024.

Masala Giving Circle Grants

Closes December 31, 2024


The Masala Giving Circle Grant (up to $10,000) is awarded to organizations that benefit African American/Black communities in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and/or Desoto counties.

 

The Masala Grant opened on October 31, and closes December 31, 2024.

Add disaster relief needs to your profile


Use The Giving Partner to seek help and inform the community about your needs as we continue to recover from recent storms.


How to share your needs:

  1. Update your profile: Add disaster-related needs in the “Tell Your Story” section and use keywords like “disaster relief,” “Hurricane Helene,” or "Hurricane Milton" for better visibility.
  2. Volunteer needs: List any volunteer and engagement opportunities related to your post-storm efforts.
  3. Fundraising: Set up a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser for storm relief and collect donations.

Pro-bono PR opportunity for local nonprofits


Nonprofits with limited PR resources can apply to The Central West Coast Chapter of the

Florida Public Relations Association’s (CWC-FPRA) Mission Mavericks program for free

communications support. From press release templates to brand guidelines, this program helps local 501(c)(3) organizations in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties tackle specific PR challenges. Apply by November 25th for project work from December 2024 through March 2025.

National Dislocated Worker Emergency Grants


CareerSource Suncoast (CSS) has received an allotment of funds for Hurricane Helene (with anticipation of receiving funds for Hurricane Milton) and is in the process of identifying worksites from public and non-profit organizations that have been affected by storms. CSS can employ individuals, especially those affected by the storms, on behalf of the affected organization through the state’s approved temporary agency.
