Nonprofit News: October 2024

We hope this newsletter finds you and your loved ones well after the events of both Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our foundation is actively fundraising for our Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund and Season of Sharing.

Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund

The Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund is a local resource for the long-term, ongoing needs that emerge over time, so communities can heal holistically after a catastrophic weather event. See further below about our emergency grant cycle opening due to Hurricane Milton. Future grant cycles will open in 2025.

Season of Sharing

Our Season of Sharing fund has been a trusted, time-tested safety net for people in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties to access immediate resources with the help of a case worker to cover emergency financial needs. If you or your clients are in need of assistance, dial 2-1-1 on your phone or click here to learn more about the process of receiving Season of Sharing funds.

Volunteer Florida

Recruit Volunteers for Hurricane Relief

After Hurricane Andrew hit Florida, Volunteer Florida evolved to serve as the state’s lead agency for mobilizing volunteers and coordinating donations before, during and after disasters.

Organizations across the state can post volunteer opportunities on the site throughout the year but have a specific volunteer search tool after disaster strikes. Add your volunteer clean ups for statewide visibility.
