Grant Writing Resources

The library frequently receives questions about grant writing support. Although we’re not grant-writing specialists, we’re glad to help with basic proofreading and share reliable resources to support your grant-writing efforts:

  • Gale Courses offers several six-week, instructor-led online courses on grant writing including, Writing Effective Grants. The course is free with a library card. Additional nonprofit-focused workshops are also available through Gale Courses.
  • Candid Learning provides a wide range of free and low-cost learning resources for nonprofits. They offer a number of Sample Documents featuring strong proposal examples, and they offer a free introductory course with your no-cost account.
  • Nonprofitready.org offers free, self-paced learning materials. After creating an account, explore the Topics section, especially the Grants area, for proposal-writing guidance.
  • Library books on proposal and grant writing are also available for checkout.

If you’d like help finding potential grants to support your project, submit a Book-a-Librarian request to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a librarian.
