Marketing Essentials

March - October - Join us for a six-part series of learning, discussions, networking, and good food! Led by Consociate Media, this series is open to all nonprofit development and marketing professionals (and anyone interested in learning!). Each session will cover an essential part of marketing for your organization.

Rethink What Poverty Looks Like - - March 6 - The Poverty Simulation experience prompts individuals to reflect on the difficulties of poverty and engage in discussions about how to tackle the issue. It is meant to provide participants with a glimpse into the daily struggles of a typical low-income family. To learn more, click here.

Project Homeless Connect - March 15 - offers a wide range of services from providers, all in one location.

Applications for Marshall-Ridley
Residential Façade Program - Residents in the Marshall-Ridley neighborhood of the Southeast Community may be eligible for grant funding to help with exterior home improvements. The Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority will grant up to $20,000 maximum per residential structure to assist with projects. Applications will be accepted beginning February 15, on a first-come, first-served basis. Nominate Your Best Volunteer(s)! - Volunteer Hampton Roads annually recognizes the region's most outstanding volunteers based on their length of service, initiative, and impact on the community. Deadline for nominations is February 15. Click here to nominate.

Apply to be a Charitable Partner for the 5K on the Runway - The Newport News/Williamsburg Airport will be hosting its third annual SK on the Runway on September 16, 2023. To be considered a charitable partner for this event, click here. Deadline is March 1. (Thanks to Donnie Hines for sharing!).

AmeriCorps State Grant Applications - Applications are due on March 7. To access application, click here.

NAP Education Tax Credits - The application for FY23/24 will be available beginning March 15. If your organization operates an education program to low-income persons or eligible students with a disability, including scholastic instruction, counseling or supportive services to children and/or their parents, or scholarships, you may qualify. EFSP Funds Available - United Way of the Virginia Peninsula will begin administering the National Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) for our local community. Organizations providing food, shelter, or financial assistance to residents within these jurisdictions are encouraged to apply. Application will be available here beginning February 15 and must be completed by March 17. To learn more, click here.

Vendor Openings - June 10 - Butterfly Walk for Lupus & Fibro. The Social Butterflies Foundation has 10 vendor spots available for nonprofits. Registration donation is $50. Nonprofits can register here (click on vendor registration to see the available options).

Exhibitor Space - Williamsburg Farmers Market has expanded its exhibitor space availability to a wider range of nonprofits. To learn more, click here.
