Coming Together to Support Local Nonprofits' Work in Ukraine - Current events in Ukraine have brought a unique opportunity for local nonprofits to come alongside one of our own. Heart for Orphans, established in 2003, and based in Williamsburg, runs foster care homes for young, orphaned children and transition homes for orphaned teens. Heart for Orphans is raising EMERGENCY FUNDS to relocate each family to other eastern European countries.
NetworkPeninsula has been approached by a donor who wants to harness the power of the nonprofit sector! He wants to match up to $5,000 of all donations made by March 31 by NetworkPeninsula's nonprofit members and networked community of individuals, businesses, and civic and faith-based organizations. (*Members of NetworkPeninsula's Board of Directors have already made a private gift of $1,000 to jumpstart this support of Heart for Orphans' work in Ukraine.) Every dollar received for this emergency fund is going directly to relocation costs. To learn more and to donate, click here.

Friday, April 8 · 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
via Zoom
How do you (and why should you), as an Executive Director or a Board Chair, start a conversation on Diversity, Equity and/or Inclusion with your board, staff members, and volunteers? The goal of that conversation is to build a strong connection with your community, your clients and other stakeholders, and stay aligned with your organizational values and mission. We’ll explore different ways to establish common ground, some questions to consider when leading your own conversation, and potential steps to move you and your nonprofit onward.
