Norma Alcantar is Elected to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame
The chemical engineering professor will be inducted during the 7th Annual Induction Ceremony in November. She is being honored for pioneering advances in natural technologies to clean and purify contaminated water, novel therapies for Alzheimer’s and cancer, detection of IEDs, removal of pollutants from contaminated soil and methods advancing ocean oil spill clean-up.

USF AIChE Chapter Wins 2021 AIChE Southern Student Regional Conference Chem-E-Car Poster Competition
During the virtual 2021 Southern Student Regional Conference hosted by the University of Louisville in March, this year’s USF American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) student team placed 6th in the conference’s Chem-E-Car Competition and placed 1st in the competition’s poster presentation section.
Six engineering seniors will receive the Golden Bull Award, one of USF’s highest honors given annually in the spring semester to deserving undergraduate and graduate students who encompass the spirit of USF and have demonstrated its values. Recipients exemplify exceptional leadership and service to University and community. The 2021 Engineering Recipients are:
