Committing to New Year's Resolutions
From Ande Masoncup, Asst. Superintendent of Rec
Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is ready for the excitement of a brand new year. 2020 is your year to make a commitment to health and wellness. New Year's resolutions are very common to make at the start of every year. Here are a few tips on ways to achieve your goals:
- Thoroughly think through your resolution. Make sure it's one that you are willing to dedicate time and energy.
- Share your resolutions with friends and family. Sharing your resolutions with others makes you accountable, and you will be less likely to break them.
- Don't over-commit. It's easier to keep one or two goals than several.
Norris Rec Center can help you accomplish your goals with a full group fitness schedule, personal training, tennis programs and massage therapy. These services will provide the guidance you need to accomplish any health and wellness goal.
NRC loves to see our members exercising, but don't ditch your outside workouts
(if you like them!). Exercising outdoors is safe to do throughout the year as long as you prepare and dress appropriately. Check the weather conditions, including wind chill, dress in layers
(not too warmly), know the signs and symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite, and drink plenty of fluids. Sometimes a good run, jog or walk outside is good for your mental health.
Don't forget! The eNews is now being delivered monthly! There is a lot happening at NRC and a bimonthly eNews is not getting it done. We would like our members to receive information closer to event/program dates
Member Reminders:
- ALWAYS bring your membership ID card to scan.
- Wipe down equipment after each use with disinfectant spray.
- Return all weight plates to their original location. DO NOT leave weight plates any bars or equipment pieces.
- Return all equipment to it's original location.
