North Allegheny Redistricting Scenario for the 2020-2021 School Year
Redistricting plans shared with NA School Board and community at September 25 meeting
Dear North Allegheny Families,

During the September 25 Regular School Board Meeting, members of North Allegheny’s Administration presented the final redistricting scenario for the 2020-2021 school year to the community. The District has spent several months incorporating community feedback through survey results into the scenario in order to find solutions that meet both North Allegheny’s growing student population and families’ priorities.

A few key takeaways we’d like to share with you regarding this scenario:
  • Keeping neighborhoods together was the main priority throughout this process.
  • Current 4th and 7th-grade students will have the option of staying in their current school for one more year (i.e. grandfathering), given parents/guardians provide transportation to and from school.

  • Approximately 495 elementary and middle school students will change schools for the 2020-2021 school year.

  • After reviewing the redistricting scenario for the 2020-2021 school year, families are invited to provide feedback in one of two ways:
  1. Email the District your feedback to
  2. An informational meeting for interested North Allegheny families will be held on Monday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m. at NASH. Community members will have the opportunity to provide comments for up to two minutes per person. There will be no pre-registration for speakers.
  • The School Board will vote on a final scenario for redistricting at its Combined School Board Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m.
