WELCOME BACK, TIGERS!
FIRST DAY FOR STUDENTS—TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2026
| | |
Dear North Allegheny School District Community,
It is with great excitement that we begin the 2026–2027 school year as we continue to build upon North Allegheny’s proud legacy of excellence.
Our district has long been recognized for outstanding opportunities and achievement in academics, the arts, and athletics and activities. These areas are central to empowering students and reflect the talent, commitment, and pride of our entire school district. As we look ahead, we will remain focused on supporting the programs, people, and traditions that make North Allegheny such a special place.
In the coming months, we will also continue important planning for renovation and construction projects that align with our strategic and comprehensive plan and our commitment to developing facilities for the future. These projects represent an investment in our students, staff, and community, and they will help ensure that our learning environments continue to support innovation, safety, student growth, and long-term success.
I am grateful for the trust, partnership, and support of the North Allegheny community and Board of Directors. Together, we will honor the strong foundation that has been built while continuing to move our district forward with purpose, collaboration, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for all of our students.
Our entire team of educators and support staff looks forward to the year ahead and to serving the students and families of the North Allegheny School District.
Go Tigers!

The NA Code of Conduct was developed to ensure a healthy and productive learning environment in our schools so that the maximum potential for learning can exist. The Code of Conduct is communicated to students by their principals and teachers.
Numerous federal and state laws require school districts to provide students, parents, and/or the public with annual notices, many of which must be provided at the beginning of the school year.

Our Transportation Department looks forward to seeing your students return for the 2026-27 school year!
BUS ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN PowerSchool
-
Student bus assignments will be available in PowerSchool on August 6, 2026, by approximately 6:00 PM.
-
To locate your student’s bus assignment, log into PowerSchool, locate the navigation menu, and select the Transportation Info button (which features a yellow school bus icon). From there, you’ll be presented with your student’s transportation information, including times and address intersections.
| |
- Drivers are testing routes at the end of July/early August, which may result in a change to your student's bus assignment.
- If your student's transportation is provided by a non-NASD transportation company, you will be contacted separately with the bus assignment.
| | |
You can submit a ticket to:
- Report on-time bus issues

SNAP PARENT PORTAL: ACTION NEEDED FOR 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR
It’s time to complete your child’s health permissions for the upcoming school year. This authorization is required annually to ensure we have the most up-to-date information on file. The SNAP Health Portal is a secure website used by school districts to manage student medical records. It is not the food stamp program.
Please log into PowerSchool and access the SNAP Health Portal to authorize over-the-counter medications for your child(ren). If there are any changes that need to be made to your child’s emergency contacts, please contact your child’s school or email servicedesk@northallegheny.org.
Need help accessing SNAP? Follow along with the quick instructional video for step-by-step guidance.
TOO SICK FOR SCHOOL?
Please keep your students home when they are sick. Oftentimes, a sick student does not have the energy needed to complete the school day, and this can put their classmates at risk of becoming ill. Please follow the district's 24-hour rule: Keep your student home 24 hours after their last fever without using any fever-reducing medications and 24 hours from the last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.

The NA Technology Services Team is dedicated to supporting all students through the support of a robust digital ecosystem.
TECHNOLOGY SAFETY
As we prepare for the new school year, learn how the district helps keep your child safe when using school devices.
NASD iPads are issued to students in grades K-8. Devices are issued with pre-loaded applications and additional apps that can be downloaded for use in the classroom.
- The pre-loaded applications are considered to be foundational and necessary for the day-to-day instructional needs and operation of schools.
- The full Apple App Store is not accessible from the district-issued iPad. Only applications that are considered educationally beneficial have been made available through the self-service app on your student's device.
- The district is currently evaluating and streamlining the digital resources made available to staff and students. This ongoing process reviews data privacy, curricular relevance, and appropriateness of cost as digital resources are considered for addition or elimination from the digital ecosystem.

Three elementary school meetings are scheduled concurrently on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM, taking place at their respective school buildings: Hosack Elementary, Ingomar Elementary, and Peebles Elementary.
Additionally, the parent meeting for North Allegheny Senior High School will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the senior high school.
