The North American Collegiate League (NACL) is thrilled to announce the addition of Moshood “Shockey” Balogun Jr to the team. Shockey is from Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Seton Hall University.
He has been playing since the release of NBA 2K2 on the original Xbox. Shockey began his career competing in ameture tournaments on platforms such as Gamebattles and Virgin Gaming. He competed in these minor tournaments before he went pro. Shockey’s pro career began in 2018 with him becoming the first-ever free agent picked up by Pacers Gaming in the NBA2K League. He then spent his second season (2019) with NetsGC being selected 7th in the Expansion draft. He began competing in major tournaments such as 250k Road to the Finals and the 2019 MyTeam Tournament last year as well.
NACL is very excited to welcome Shockey to the team as he will provide insight and guidance as a professional esports athlete. As a brand ambassador, Shockey will be promoting NACL content, hosting NACL tournaments, and getting involved with the NACL community through streaming sessions. His role will be an instrumental part in ensuring the constant growth of the NACL.
