On Thursday, March 21, the North Baldwin Chamber Junior Ambassadors traveled to Montgomery where they had the opportunity to meet and take a photo with Governor Kay Ivey in front of the State Capital.

The Ambassadors also had the privilege of speaking with Representative Donna Givens. Mrs. Givens discussed the significance and advantages of participating in the Junior Ambassador program. She also ensured that the ambassadors were recognized during the House session.

After the House Session, the Ambassadors received acknowledgment from Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth during the Senate Session. Following the session the students asked questions and gained further insight into the workings of the Senate.

The Ambassadors met with Senator Greg Albritton who educated the students on how the House and Senate operate and why these sessions are important.

The next stop was at The First White House of the Confederacy. Where students had the opportunity to tour the house and learn more about the President of the Confederate States of America Jefferson Davis and his family.

Lastly, the students enjoyed a tour of the museum at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Where they learned more about Alabama history and how a lot of history took place right here in North Baldwin. Overall the Ambassadors had a great day filled with learning, networking, and exploring Alabama's history. A big thank you to our Junior Ambassador Steering Committee for helping the Chamber plan this great experience for our Junior Ambassadors.
