North Beach Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Project Advisory: Friday, May 23, 2025

What's Happening

The City of Miami Beach’s contractor, Vortex Companies, is currently rehabilitating the gravity sanitary sewer pipes and manholes that serve the North Beach area. The work is taking place at the intersection of 69 Street and Abbott Avenue.

A sewer-grade lining will be installed on the inside of the existing sewer pipes to create an internal pipe that extends the useful life of the sewers to ensure proper functionality of the sewer system in the area. This work is intended to take place through the access sewer manholes.

The city will use CCTV technology to perform a sewer inspection of the lines that will allow them to pinpoint the type of work needed. In addition, the City will be performing manhole rehabilitation.

This initiative is one part of the overall action plan aimed at improving water quality throughout Mid Beach. To learn more please visit: www.mbrisingabove.com/waterquality.

Please note that the City of Miami Beach has easement agreements that allow access to utilities located on private properties. If there is a city manhole behind your property, you are required to provide access for inspection, maintenance, and necessary repairs to ensure proper functionality.

Timeline

Repair work will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional time is subject to approval and community notification.

Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • You will receive a door hanger 48 hours prior to work commencing in your area.
  • Limited bathroom usage is permitted.
