COVID-19 UPDATE:
Hello 2019-2020 NCPG Members,

We are writing to you today to share our plan for the remaining 2019-2020 NCPG Programming based off the latest COVID-19 news and recommendations. Thank you for taking a minute to read through the details and let us know if you have any questions at this time.

As concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus continue to grow -- schools, businesses, government entities, families and organizations like our own have been faced with a number of difficult decisions. After consulting our Board of Directors, reviewing the latest news updates, including the  CDC's recommendation to cancel all gatherings of 50+ people for the next eight weeks , and considering the recommendation that social distancing is one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of COVID-19, it is with great sadness that we  have unfortunately decided to cancel the following  NCPG Events:
  • April 4 Spring Festival
  • April 23 Mom's Night Out
  • April 4, April 22 and May 6 Classes

INSTEAD we will offer supplemental Virtual Learning Opportunities for our membership. Our Education Directors are working to confirm a few virtual guest speakers who will potentially offer Facebook Live presentations on topics relevant to what we're all going through in this now uncertain time (exact topics + details are forthcoming). Additionally, we are asking each of our valued NCPG instructors to reach out to their classes directly to share and review any remaining syllabus topics and resources during this time.

Lastly, given the emotional, social, and financial effects that this has had on our members' lives, the Board of Directors has also decided to extend Early Bird Registration for current members for the 2020-2021 year. Early Bird Registration will now be during the months of April and May, and Open Registration will begin on June 1, 2020. Current members who register between April 1 and May 31 will be able to take advantage of the $265 early bird pricing and will be guaranteed a spot with their existing group. Open registration for new members will begin on June 1, and the cost of registration will be $320. Spots after June 1 will be given on a first come, first served basis.

In addition to our dedication to the physical health and safety of our members, teachers and families, we also recognize the emotional impact the news, social media and in-person exchanges can have on children. The National Association of School Psychologists has put together a resource for  talking to children about COVID-19 , in an effort to avoid unnecessary anxiety and provide some clarity.

We will monitor the situation surrounding the novel coronavirus through information provided by the  Center for Disease Control , the  Arizona Department of Health Services , and  Maricopa County . We recommend that you also take the time to check their websites for updates and new information.

If you have any questions or would like more specifics on anything, please reach out to myself or any Board Member at any time. Please know your flexibility and understanding during this time is greatly appreciated. We will be in contact with any additional updates and details as they are available.

Wishing You Well,
Megan Garvey (President) and the entire 2019-2020 NCPG Board
