Hutchison Street continues to be closed at North First Street. This closure is necessary for the construction of the new Hutchison Street and North First Street intersection and driveway for Del Taco. Del Taco will remain open during this time with temporary access from North First Street. Detour routes will be posted.

Crews removing the bridge deck from the old North First Avenue bridge.

SBCTA, in cooperation with the City of Barstow and BNSF Railroad, opened the new North First Avenue Bridge in July. The old bridge is currently being demolished. The replacement bridge enhances traffic safety, improves Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access, enhances pedestrian walkways, and re-establishes a safe connection between the residential north portion and the downtown business district of the City of Barstow.
