Through October, crews will continue to construct curb and gutter, install light poles and guard rails, and begin painting, striping, grinding, and paving.

Grinding is scheduled to take place Monday, October 14 through Friday, October 18 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Nighttime paving is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16 through Friday, October 18 from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

During this time intermittent flagging will occur on:

• North First Avenue between the Harvey House and White Street.
• Hutchison Street between North First Avenue and North Second Avenue.

SBCTA, in cooperation with the City of Barstow and BNSF Railroad, opened the new North First Avenue Bridge in July. The old bridge is currently being demolished. The replacement bridge enhances traffic safety, improves Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access, enhances pedestrian walkways, and re-establishes a safe connection between the residential north portion and the downtown business district of the City of Barstow.
