April Students of the Month
Jackson Buehler
Class of 2021
Jackson Buehler will be attending the University of Rhode Island next year to major in Chemical Engineering. Jackson was accepted and will be attending the Honors Program at URI. He is pursuing Chemical Engineering because Chemistry is the central science that governs the most rudimentary mechanisms of the universe and as a Chemical Engineer he will be able to exploit those processes for the betterment and advancement of our modern world. Jackson’s favorite class at North Hunterdon was Robotics and Automation with Mr. McKinnon. This class was his favorite because he got to code, design, and build his own robot out of a pizza box while using 3D printers. Jackson’s favorite memories at North were participating in the Spike for a Cure fundraiser with his soccer team, as well as breaking the school record in a Sprint Relay at the Skyland Conference Relays for Track. Jackson has participated in boys varsity track for four years and boys varsity soccer for two years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society, and Key Club.  Jackson earned his second degree black belt in taekwondo and serves as an assistant instructor at Impact Martial Arts. He also works part-time as a child care worker with the YMCA at Holland Township School and spends his summers working as a lifeguard at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club.
Zachary Reece
Class of 2021
Senior Zachary Reece is a member of North Hunterdon’s National Honor Society.
Zachary has played soccer for North all throughout his high school career. He plays defense and was Captain of the JV team his junior year. Zachary has always enjoyed his Computer Science and Mathematics classes at North Hunterdon. It is something he has always gravitated towards since he transferred into the district. Some of Zachary’s favorite memories at North were attending sporting events with his classmates, playing soccer with the soccer team, and having "normal" school days. Outside of North, he plays club soccer, does Jiu Jitsu, and frequently lifts at the gym. Zachary has applied to Rutgers, NJIT, and Stevens Institute of Technology. He plans to major in Computer Engineering and Cybersecurity.

April Athletes of the Month
Chloe Bean
Class of 2021
Captain Chloe Bean is catcher on the Varsity Softball Team. Chloe has been on varsity for the past four years. She has embraced the role of captain and worked tirelessly to build some team chemistry and infuse the team culture to the players after missing the entire 2020 season. Chloe’s efforts as captain have been even more impressive when you consider that there was no transition from last year’s team to this year’s team. She basically worked from the ground up. Chloe is a phenomenal catcher, a tremendous leader, and an even better person. Because of her role on the team, she communicates well and is supportive of her teammates no matter what. Chloe has been playing softball for the past 13 years. She plays on a travel team year round out of Newtown, PA. Chloe is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, Social Studies National Honor Society, and English National Honor Society. She is a Student Ambassador and a member of the Spanish Club. Chloe participated in this year’s Powder Puff game and plans to participate in Relay for Life in May. Next year, she will be playing softball at Salve Regina University where she will study Administration of Justice and Psychology.
Christian Baucom
Class of 2021
Senior Christian Baucom has been playing Lacrosse competitively since the third grade. Christian is committed to playing Lacrosse at Kean next year with an intended major in Economics. His career stats are 127 ground balls, 209 faceoff wins, for a career winning percentage of 61%. Christian’s strongest skills in sports are his determination, fearlessness, and leadership. In lacrosse, he is the faceoff guy (also known as the FOGO). The team started their season on April 19th, playing against Somerville High School. Their first scrimmage, against Warren Hills, they won 15-8. The win felt good but the team has a lot they need to improve on. Personally, Christian hopes to win over 70% of his faceoffs, score more than five goals, and help lead the team to a Hunterdon Warren Sussex championship followed by a state championship. Christian is a member of National Honor Society, Interact Club, and Key Club. He played football for North, plays club lacrosse over the summer for NJLC, and loves to eat steak.
