What's Happening in Social Studies?

High School Social Studies Mr. Kennedy's classes have been bustling with collaborative activities this month. In his Contemporary World Issues class, students engaged in a lively debate on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, exploring the merits of a Two-State Solution versus a No-State Solution. Meanwhile, the American History class participated in dynamic "Round-Robin" presentations, delving into key figures, groups, and ideas from the Reconstruction era. It’s been an enriching month filled with critical discussions and teamwork!

Middle School Social Studies Mr. Wheatley's 6th grade students recently wrapped up an engaging unit on geography, culminating in a creative project exploring the 5 Themes of Geography. Meanwhile, the 7th graders have successfully completed a unit on globalization, examining its profound impact on the world. Currently, the 8th grade students are diving into the study of the 13 colonies, investigating what life was like for the colonists before the Revolutionary War. Exciting learning is happening in every grade!

Homecoming Week

Students and staff across the building came together to celebrate Homecoming Week with a variety of fun activities and dress-up days. Each morning, different groups of athletes and high school students warmly welcomed the elementary students as they arrived off the bus. On Monday, middle and high school students engaged in decorating activities to showcase their school spirit. Wednesday evening brought excitement as junior and senior students faced off in Powderpuff Football and Ironman Volleyball. Friday morning, elementary students enjoyed a lively Pep Rally organized by the high school cheerleaders, featuring performances from the Junior Poms Team and the high school dance team. In the afternoon, middle and high school students attended another Pep Rally led by the High School Lighthouse Team and Mrs. Winn. This event included thrilling performances from the cheerleaders, dance team, and Junior Poms Team, as well as a surprise "Masked Singer" contest. The Pep Rally culminated in friendly competitions between classes, with the seniors ultimately emerging victorious!

The North Linn 2024 Homecoming Court showcased an outstanding group of candidates, including Cael Benesh, Molly Boge, Mason Bechen, Emilee Beuter, Cade Garman, Kenzie Bridgewater, Cole Griffith, Bryn Collum, Elijah Williams, and Allie Haughenbury.

King and Queen were crowned before the Varsity Football game against East Buchanan!

Elementary PTO Walk A Thon

On October 4th, the North Linn Elementary PTO hosted a vibrant Walk-A-Thon to raise funds for community activities and classroom supplies. Students, families, and staff came together to enjoy a day of fitness and fun, all while supporting our school’s vital programs. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success!

What's Happening in FBLA?

This year's FBLA Officers include our Co-Presidents, Caleb Bildstein and Kenzie Bridgewater, along with eight dedicated general officers: Ava Hoover, Gillian Schulte, Claire Ries, Landon Thomsen, Abigail Michael, Olivia Reid, Allison Arnold, and Mackenzie Burke. The seasoned and incoming members of FBLA gathered for a delightful ice cream social, where they engaged in thoughtful discussions about the organization and the various events planned for the year. This enjoyable setting fostered connections and camaraderie among members. We are filled with anticipation for an exhilarating year ahead, brimming with opportunities for growth and involvement!
