Annual Spring Hydrant Flush 2022 | |
The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will commence the 2022 Spring Flushing of Water Mains for the Municipality of North Middlesex.
When: April 19th to May 31st, 2022 (Monday to Friday)
You may experience discoloured water coming from your tap. If this happens, we suggest you try the following:
- Remove the tap aerators off your taps and flush the cold water house lines until it runs clear.
- Flush out your hot water tanks to remove the accumulated iron that precipitates out in the tank (iron may decrease the efficiency of your water tank)
You may experience lower than normal pressure due to flushing activities. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. OCWA will continue to work on the flushing programs to ensure consumer satisfaction.

It’s that time of year when we all want to get outdoors and prepare our yards for spring. Remember that while controlled recreational fires are permitted in residential areas of North Middlesex, burning yard waste is not. In rural areas, some yard materials may be burned with specific rules in place.
Be sure to check the Open Air Burning By-law to make sure you are following the guidelines, and to keep yourself and your family safe. The Open Air Burning By-law regulates when, where, and how to have outdoor fires. Following these regulations ensures you do not create a nuisance for neighbours. The regulations stipulate many restrictions, including the hours open burning is allowed, the maximum size of a fire, the material that can be burned, wind conditions and mandatory safety precautions.
